The Genesis™ offers two contact points, at front and rear, for locking. The unique concentric design of the Genesis™ bike rack helps guide bikes into proper parking position while providing double the parking space of typical serpentine racks. The biggest monster of them all though has to be the Fugio. With its steel frame and carbon fork, asymmetrical chainstays and 650b wheels with gargantuan 50c tyres, it’s perfect if you want a bike that will take you anywhere, but don’t want a mountain bike. The bikes are available either with rim brakes or hydraulic discs, but there is only one spec level with these bikes. Packaging SystemGenesis created a holistic packaging system that was impactful and highlighted specific features across a product offering that reached almost 3000 SKU’s. Product PresentationWe developed the product graphic presentation for more than 200 unique models every year…while being on-trend, fresh and true to the brand. Product PresentationGenesis created the global product presentation for the world’s largest quality bicycle manufacturer. Set up was simple, the bike did come with a whole bunch of spacers below the stem, after less than 30 seconds on the bike I had these shuffled to get the front as low as possible and it was off to the trails. Lowest noise possible, quick disconnect for ease of use, and unmatched dependability. Goes up to 20 MPH Path/Street Legal In All 50 State, It's a Class 2 e-bike. The best riding is off the beaten track, on that road – or path – to who knows where. Packaging SystemThe packaging system had to accommodate everything from small replacement parts to complete bikes. Compression isn’t adjustable, and rebound is exactly what one might expect from a spring. Out back, the four bar linkage looks the part, but the actual path of travel is an arc that wants to move the wheel forward as it goes upward. This results in poor handling, as the wheel cannot track over rough surfaces properly. Kit wise the Genesis is sensibly specced, Shimano Deore takes care of transmission duties with a SLX rear derailleur, brakes are Deore too. Genesis are a British brand that have been building decent bikes and a decent reputation so I was looking forward to a chance to see if the positive buzz about the company and their bikes was well earned. You’re a fool for thinking Walmart bikes are decent bikes. Sure they are cheap, heavy, made with really crappy components, and can get you from a to b. But, being assembled improperly is half the battle when buying a “Big Box Brand” bike. That if you are not an avid cyclist with basic bike skills can cost you as much as the bike to get repaired. With the 2x Sram GRX drivetrain you’ll have no problem up the steepest of climbs or getting up to speed on the longest flats. Built around 700c wheels with a max tyre clearance of 40mm the Croix De Fer will suck up those miles. You won’t be looking for the single-track as often as with the Fugio, but the Croix De Fer is still extremely capable. The Genesis™ bicycle rack has the simple “floating” concentric rings that look like an attractive outdoor sculpture. When full, these same concentric rings park bikes safely and securely. Comfort comes your way with a padded saddle that is easily height adjusted with a no-tool quick-release seat-post clamp. Whether you're riding on the street or on the trail, the RCT from Genesis has you covered. Alloy wheels with knobby tires for great grip on the trails. When it comes down to it, only two things really matter. The answer with this bike is yes, and yes, and all at an affordable cost. Although the two bikes in this section might both be called the ‘Vapour’ with only the epithets ‘Alloy’ and ‘Carbon’ differentiating them, there are actually significant distinctions to be made. The first Genesis bike was produced under the Ridgeback brand as the Day One model in 2001. Due to its popularity, Genesis became a label in its own right in 2006.
Where typical bikepacking or touring rigs sport larger 700c wheels and thinner tyres, the featured 650x47 wheelset produces superb grip in all conditions. It feels assured through the corners and more capable on the technical single track often found in New Zealand—this piece of eye candy will have you grinning from ear to ear on your next adventure. The Longitude feels like a throwback to mid-90s mountain bikes but with modern geometry. Many might question the long and low, enduro-inspired geometry paired with the bike packing rig, but we wouldn’t. If you’re a mountain biker keen to get into adventure bikes—this is for you. Fit a pair of slick tyres and turn the Longitude into a no-nonsense commuter or tourer. There was just a couple things that was loose… But after getting a allen wrench, I was able to tighten up everything. The only good thing about these bikes that I like are the shumano derailleur, the tires, and the grips. My friend has one of these bikes and I’m trying to trade him tires lol.
